Immediate opening: we are hiring a machinist in Orange County, California. You will work in a sampling and tailoring workshop. What we are looking for: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory Day-to-day duties: • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Rotating shifts. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Walk-in interviews this week.
