Join our team: sample machinist (West Virginia)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a sample machinist in McDowell County, West Virginia. You will work in a sampling and tailoring workshop. On a typical shift you will set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance; topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go; inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes. You should have: • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens At least 4 year(s) in a similar role. $3,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
