Foundry operative wanted in Allegany County

Now hiring: we are hiring a foundry operative in Allegany County, New York. You will work in a non-ferrous casting shop. Ideal candidate: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor On the job you will handle: • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew.
