On a typical shift you will keep a daily trip log and record mileage and fuel used; report mechanical faults and dents to the depot office; drive defensively through heavy traffic and bad weather; carry out pre-trip checks on tyres, brakes, lights and mirrors; refuel the vehicle and keep the fuel receipts; check the first-aid kit and fire extinguisher on board.
