Great opportunity: panel welder (Illinois)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a panel welder in Grundy County, Illinois. You will be based at a pipe and tank fabrication yard. Day to day you will check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration; change worn contact tips and gas nozzles on the torch; grind back and re-weld any defective runs; lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints; strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc; tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing. Ideal candidate: • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently • 2+ years on MIG/MAG (GMAW) welding 4+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time, day shift. Overtime paid at a premium rate.
