Vacancy available: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Kirklees, England. Day to day you will skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings. What we are looking for: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings 4+ years on the tools preferred. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
