Now hiring: we are hiring a pipe TIG welder in Cumberland County, Illinois. Ideal candidate: • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety Day-to-day duties: • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise 4+ years on the tools preferred.
