On a typical shift you will carry out daily walk-around vehicle checks before setting off; keep a safe following distance, adjusting for weather and load; check load weight and axle distribution against permitted limits; secure loads with ratchet straps, chains and load bars; plan routes and rest stops in line with driving-hours rules.
