The role involves load spoil into tippers and dumpers cleanly without spillage; inspect tracks, bucket teeth and pins for wear before start-up; grade, level and batter slopes to the required gradient; work safely around buried services with a banksman or spotter; carry out daily greasing and check hydraulic oil, coolant and fuel levels; track the machine on and off low-loaders for transport. Requirements: • Good awareness of underground services and exclusion zones • Valid CPCS/NPORS card or local heavy-equipment licence • Own PPE — safety boots, hi-vis and hard hat Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
