Mason's helper • Highland County, Virginia

We are recruiting: we are hiring a mason's helper in Highland County, Virginia. The job is on a metro and infrastructure project. Requirements: • Basic knowledge of hand tools like shovel, trowel and breaker • Site safety induction or labour card an advantage • Able to lift and carry heavy loads such as 50 kg cement bags all day Your main tasks: • Dig foundation trenches and pits with pick and shovel • Mix concrete and mortar to the correct ratio, by hand or in a pan mixer • Backfill and ram down soil around the foundations • Break out old walls and concrete with a jackhammer breaker • Cure freshly laid concrete by sprinkling water for several days • Carry bricks, cement bags and sand up to the masons on site Pay around $4,700 per month, based on your experience. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Full-time with occasional weekends. Apply today to start as soon as possible.
