Steel erection rigger • Rock Island County, Illinois

Great opportunity: we are hiring a steel erection rigger in Rock Island County, Illinois. You will be based at a container port. Ideal candidate: • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles You will check sling angles to stay within the working load limit; direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear; rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position; establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area. Part-time with flexible hours. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Walk-in interviews this week.
