Immediate opening: we are hiring a domestic gas engineer in Houston County, Alabama. Day-to-day duties: • Complete gas safety certificates and label the finished installation • Install gas meters, regulators and isolation valves • Thread, ream and join black iron pipe with pipe wrenches and thread sealant • Read isometric drawings and mark out the pipe routes • Check every joint for leaks with soapy water and leak-detection spray • Braze copper gas lines and weld carbon-steel pipe joints Ideal candidate: • Valid gas fitter's licence and Gas Safe (or local) registration • Physically fit for lifting pipe, meters and cylinders Pay around $3,900 per month, based on your experience.
