Great opportunity: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Causeway Coast and Glens, Northern Ireland. Ideal candidate: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings Day-to-day duties: • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. £14 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
