Formwork carpenter — City of Charlottesville

We are recruiting: we are hiring a formwork carpenter in City of Charlottesville, Virginia. Day to day you will strike and strip the formwork once the concrete has cured; box out openings for doors, windows and service penetrations; fix stop ends and kickers at the construction joints; set up adjustable steel props and falsework to support the slab decking; seal panel joints and hold the correct concrete cover to prevent grout loss; watch the formwork during concreting and tighten up any movement. Requirements: • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long shifts • Able to read formwork and structural drawings Pay around $200 per day, based on your experience. Full-time, day shift.
