Aluminium TIG welder — Ford County

Vacancy available: we are hiring an aluminium TIG welder in Ford County, Illinois. You will be based in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. What we are looking for: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection The role involves: • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel $2,900 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Meals and transport allowance provided. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
