Ideal candidate: • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Own basic hand tools and PPE Your main tasks: • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) Full-time with occasional weekends.
