The role involves measure rope tension and check for broken strands; install guide rails, brackets and counterweight frames in the hoistway; set and test the overspeed governor and safety gear; respond to entrapment call-outs and release trapped passengers; fault-find control circuits with a multimeter and test instruments; adjust door operator timing and re-levelling accuracy.
