Immediate opening: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Yagba East, Kogi State. You will work in the melting bay of a steel foundry. On the job you will handle: • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding Six days a week, one day off.
