Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel erection rigger in Howard County, Indiana. The job is at a shipyard. Requirements: • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear On a typical shift you will secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists; guide loads through tight openings into their final position; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; carry out daily checks on cranes, hoists and lifting tackle. Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
