Now hiring: we are hiring a vacuum press operator in Cumberland County, Maine. You will work in a tailoring workshop. On a typical shift you will clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents; operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments; meet the daily piece target without damaging garments; give each garment a final press before packing; set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics; keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure. Requirements: • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine • Physically fit to lift bundles and handle repetitive work Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
