Steel erection rigger wanted in Atascosa County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a steel erection rigger in Atascosa County, Texas. The job is at a shipyard. The role involves: • Tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight • Secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists • Attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams • Valid rigging / lifting certificate or banksman-slinger ticket Full-time with occasional weekends. $5,400 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
