Now hiring: we are hiring an argon welder in Androscoggin County, Maine. The job is at a busy fabrication workshop. What we are looking for: • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety Day-to-day duties: • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run Rotating shifts.
