Now hiring: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Southeastern Connecticut Planning Region, Connecticut. The job is in a food and dairy equipment factory. The role involves set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges; carry out 6G pipe welds where required; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal. You should have: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings 2+ years on the tools preferred.
