Lift mechanic — Borough of Wigan

Immediate opening: we are hiring a lift mechanic in Borough of Wigan, England. The job is in a hospital with heavy lift traffic. Requirements: • Valid driving licence for site call-outs • Willing to join the on-call/emergency breakdown rota The role involves replace worn sheaves, rollers, contactors and relays; rope up the traction machine and reeve the hoisting cables; run load and overload tests with test weights; measure rope tension and check for broken strands; wire up the controller, encoder and limit switches. Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. £18 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Part-time with flexible hours.
