Gtaw welder wanted in Keokuk County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a gtaw welder in Keokuk County, Iowa. You will work at a stainless steel fabrication shop. Requirements: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Own basic hand tools and PPE The role involves: • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints 3+ years on the tools preferred.
