Vacancy available: we are hiring a metal caster in Lee County, Alabama. The job is at a busy iron foundry. The role involves fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle. Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection At least 2 year(s) in a similar role. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
