Immediate opening: we are hiring a steam press operator in Waupaca County, Wisconsin. You will be based in a busy laundry. On a typical shift you will sort bundles by fabric, shade and order number; check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching; remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron. Ideal candidate: • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment Rotating shifts.
