Vacancy available: we are hiring a garment machinist in City of Martinsville, Virginia. The job is on a ready-made garment production line. Ideal candidate: • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance Day-to-day duties: • Meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality • Press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes Overtime paid at a premium rate.
