Urgent requirement: we are hiring a machinist in Macon County, Alabama. On the job you will handle: • Stitch seams, hems, side seams and shoulder joins to the marked seam allowance • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation You should have: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line Six days a week, one day off.
