Now hiring: we are hiring a pipe TIG welder in Childress County, Texas. The job is at an automotive body and exhaust shop. The role involves: • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks Ideal candidate: • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work 1+ years on the tools preferred.
