Metal caster — Tioga County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a metal caster in Tioga County, New York. Day-to-day duties: • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle Requirements: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew.
