Join our team: we are hiring a brick mason in Lenoir County, North Carolina. You will be based at a groundworks and structures site. Requirements: • Physically fit for lifting bricks and blocks all day • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently On the job you will handle: • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
