Foundry operative — Plymouth County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry operative in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. Day-to-day duties: • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings You should have: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
