Great opportunity: we are hiring a banksman in Salem County, New Jersey. The job is at a shipyard. The role involves: • Tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear • Read lift plans and method statements before starting • Rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position • Inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight What we are looking for: • Proven experience as a rigger on construction or industrial sites • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. Pay around $4,900 per month, based on your experience. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
