What we are looking for: • Able to work to deadlines in a busy workshop • Accurate measuring and squaring to within a couple of millimetres • Knowledge of common hardware systems such as espagnolette and friction hinges Day-to-day duties: • Check the frame for square by measuring the diagonals • Clean welded corners on a corner-cleaning machine and chisel off the weld flash • Fuse-weld frame and sash corners on the welding machine and check the weld seam • Fit espagnolette locking gear, friction hinges, handles and keeps to the sash • Cut and weld mullions and transoms into the frame • Glaze the double-glazed units, set the packers and bed the glass square At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
