Gtaw welder — Columbia County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a gtaw welder in Columbia County, Wisconsin. The job is in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. On a typical shift you will inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; carry out 6G pipe welds where required; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode. You should have: • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) Pay around $19 per hour, based on your experience.
