Immediate opening: we are hiring a furnace operator in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. You will work on the moulding line. Day-to-day duties: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes Requirements: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
