Now hiring: argon welding operator (Kentucky)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Montgomery County, Kentucky. You will work on a structural steel site. On a typical shift you will clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise; run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size; clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding. Requirements: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection At least 6 year(s) in a similar role. Full-time, day shift. Pay around $2,800 per month, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
