Garment machinist — Aleutians East Borough

Immediate opening: we are hiring a garment machinist in Aleutians East Borough, Alaska. The job is in a sampling and tailoring workshop. You should have: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Can hit the daily piece-rate target consistently The role involves: • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching Rotating shifts.
