Sand plant operator wanted in Lavaca County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Lavaca County, Texas. You will be based at an aluminium die-casting plant. The role involves: • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand Ideal candidate: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
