Furnace operator wanted in Presque Isle County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a furnace operator in Presque Isle County, Michigan. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. Ideal candidate: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards On the job you will handle: • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings $27 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
