We are recruiting: we are hiring a safety officer in Jefferson County, Illinois. Day to day you will take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry; conduct job hazard analysis (JHA) on every new task; update the risk register and method statements (RAMS); audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges; verify lifting gear, slings, shackles and crane test certificates; enforce lockout-tagout (LOTO) on energised and rotating equipment. You should have: • Able to read and prepare RAMS and method statements • Valid first aid and basic firefighting training 6+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time with occasional weekends.
