GTAW welder • Logan County, Illinois

Immediate opening: we are hiring a GTAW welder in Logan County, Illinois. The job is at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. On the job you will handle: • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run Requirements: • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. $4,800 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
