Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry labourer in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The role involves: • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant You should have: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor 3+ years on the tools preferred.
