Now hiring: we are hiring a steel fixer in Grimes County, Texas. You will be based on a civil engineering bridge and roads site. On the job you will handle: • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat • Read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings • Place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing • Lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors You should have: • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing 6+ years on the tools preferred.
