Now hiring: we are hiring an argon welder in Vernon Parish, Louisiana. The job is at a precision engineering workshop. Your main tasks: • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Carry out 6G pipe welds where required • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions Ideal candidate: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
