Great opportunity: we are hiring a tig welder in Poweshiek County, Iowa. You will be based in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings On the job you will handle: • Read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges Six days a week, one day off.
