Now hiring: we are hiring a brickwork mason in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. What we are looking for: • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets On the job you will handle: • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts • Laying bricks to the line, level and plumb Six days a week, one day off.
