Requirements: • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot • Able to read and prepare RAMS and method statements • Sound knowledge of local OSH and factory act regulations Day to day you will check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements; stop unsafe work and brief the supervisor on corrective action; ensure MSDS/SDS sheets are on hand for every chemical on site; investigate near-misses and incidents and file root-cause reports; enforce lockout-tagout (LOTO) on energised and rotating equipment; take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry. 4+ years on the tools preferred.
