Fabricator-welder — Aleutians West Census Area

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a fabricator-welder in Aleutians West Census Area, Alaska. You should have: • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work Your main tasks: • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. $4,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
